Comparison
Kexo vs Kalorické tabulky
Kalorické tabulky is the default food diary for many people in Slovakia and Czechia, with a local database Kexo does not have. Kexo takes a different approach: log in chat, then use the week to find what is helping and what is getting in the way.
Last reviewed September 4, 2026. Author: Jozef Toth. This is not a paid comparison, and Kalorické tabulky did not review it.
What both apps do
Both apps track what you eat and give you a daily calorie target. Both support Slovak, barcodes, and meal photos. Neither provides medical care.
Kalorické tabulky describes itself on kaloricketabulky.sk. Kexo explains how the weekly target moves on Adaptive expenditure.
Where they differ
| What | Kalorické tabulky | Kexo |
|---|---|---|
| How you log | Database first: search, scan, or add a recipe. Fast when you know the brand and want a specific entry | Chat first: text, photo, voice, or barcode. Searching a food database is not the main way you log |
| Local foods | A large database for the Czech and Slovak market, including store brands, restaurants, and home recipes. This is where they are strongest | An estimate from what you type or photograph. Kexo does not have its own database of Slovak brands |
| Calorie target | A recommended daily intake from their plan. Activity is added to the day’s balance | A starting estimate, then a weekly update from what you logged and how weight moved |
| What you get besides the number | A diary, charts, recipes, stats. Premium adds a deeper meal-plan analysis | A coach that reads the week: weekends, sleep, training, gut, how you feel |
| Food photos | Since 2025, it can recognize a meal from a photo and add it to the diary | A photo is one way you talk to the coach. You can edit the result immediately |
| Languages / company | A Czech product with Slovak. Sold abroad as Dine4Fit | English and Slovak. Sparkclrt s.r.o., Banská Bystrica |
Where Kalorické tabulky is better
- The local database. Lidl, Coop, a local restaurant, an aunt’s recipe. This is why many people in Slovakia try it first.
- Years on both phone and web. If you want a specific database entry and detailed charts, start there.
- Recipes and a community-built food log. People add meals. Kexo is not building that library.
- Slovak support. Language alone is not a reason to switch to Kexo.
When Kexo is the better fit
- You will not keep logging in a food database for six months, but you will text or photograph dinner.
- You do not want another diary. You want someone to say the weekend wiped the deficit, or that you eat more after bad sleep.
- You want the weekly target to move from what you actually logged and how the scale moved, not only from the starting number.
- You want a Slovak company and a coach you talk to, not a table you fill in.
What we are not claiming
- We do not claim a photo or chat estimate is more accurate than its database. We have not run that comparison.
- We do not claim a measured accuracy figure for either product.
- We do not claim Kalorické tabulky is “just an old app.” Its local database is difficult to build, and Kexo does not have one.
- We do not claim Kalorické tabulky has no AI. It has recognized meals from photos since 2025.
